Kinewell Lake

Visitor Information

The main visitor car park is situated on Station Road, Ringstead (What3Words: backs.edits.darts).  Please note car park opening hours as we have no provision for releasing vehicles after the times stated.

Pedestrian access also via the footpath at the bottom of Meadow Close, Ringstead (What3Words: catapult.drill.passwords) and adjacent to the River Nene (What3Words: island.torn.growl).

Please be aware this lake is actively used by a small very responsible group of anglers and whilst every effort is made by these anglers to take home all equipment ie lines. hooks, etc. debris can wash in from the River Nene and other lakes in the network during periods of high water levels and flood.  When walking with children and dogs please be aware of this fact.  Whilst the anglers and volunteers who manage Kinewell make every effort to keep Kinewell litter free with regular litter picks and walk rounds to manage any risk to walkers, children and  dogs , we ask you to still be vigilant when enjoying Ringstead's Kinewell Lake.

There are no toilet facilities at Kinewell Lake but customer only toilets are available during opening hours at The Axe & Compass Public House in Ringstead: https://www.axeandcompasspubringstead.co.uk and at The Water Mill Tea Rooms and Restaurant: https://www.watermilltearooms.com

Please note that the site experiences flooding during excessively wet weather and access may not be possible alongside the River Nene.
