Kinewell Lake

Using dead branches and brash created by thinning the trees earlier in the year, to create a habitat for wildlife. - March 2025.

It is also hoped that this will create a barrier and restrict visitor access to the area behind which should encourage more wildlife to visit.

A well earned rest.

Two people admiring the view across the lakeA morning well spent in the company of the Wildlife Trust who accompanied us on a walk around the lake and gave us a chance to explore ideas and to learn from their expertise.

January saw our volunteers out litter picking alonside Ringstead Road where recent flood water had deposited a great deal of rubbish.

The sun came out for the December workparty who apart from moving materials to enable the boardwalk repairs to be completed once the flood water has receded, also spent time hacking back the brambles away from the path although there was a strong belief that they were growing quicker than they could be cut down!!  We felt honoured to have a robin keep us company.

Mrs G provided workers with her usual Lemon Drizzle which helped to replace calories used.

Thank you to all those who turned out.
